A small percentage of 360 users had a problem with their system overheating. Microsoft good as their word replaced every unit. Problems happen [and this shouldn't have] but what's important is how a company responds.
@FuzzyPixels. There's nothing wrong with having an emotional bond to a game, but what one shouldn't do is make stuff up.
I've studied literature and film and written about their artistry and meanings and subtext. The lesson that sticks in my mind is that whilst everyone can have a different feeling or interpretation of content, it has to be content that is actually in a book/film [or game]. You can't just make up a meaning that the creators didn't put in. ...
Half the hate reviews are from nerds angry about the Destiny - PlayStation 4 partnership. I don't recall this happening with Activision's other big game, Call of Duty.
"Is Destiny an Allegory for Surviving Depression?"
NO. I can't believe how hard some people try to prove 'games are art' just so they can alleviate the self-loathing they have about gaming. Don't try and force meaning, just enjoy Destiny for what it is.
It might not be that Sony paid for exclusives. With the XBO marketshare so low in Japan some publishers might not think it worth the expense of releasing their game.
Destiny's late reviews is the best thing to happen to games reporting.
I have with good reason become suspicious of some websites and their closeness to certain publishers and how they give out their scores.
Game reviews never influence my buying decisions. I am able to make my own informed choices. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Destiny will sell tremendously without reviews and it will convince other publishers not to overemphas...
Great figures show that Sony's investment in making a gamer-centric system paid off. To be honest I'm kinda surprsised it has done nearly Wii like numbers because the Wii was a phenomenon that was featured on just about every regular news and breakfast programme in the UK. So it demonstrates the PS4's success comes from a grass roots level.
PlayStation UK boss Jim Ryan has previously said that Sony would have sold a lot more in the launch window if not for stock ...
Greeneberg is more oily than a car salesman - and less trustworthy.
When Geoff Keighley revealed that Rise of the Tomb Raider was likely a timed exclusive, Aaron Greenberg tweeted trying to keep the pretence going that it was a true exclusive to trick gamers. I can't believe Phil Spencer promoted this man. Why not tell the truth or avoid answering - he shouldn't give these B.S answers. He makes The public trust Microsoft stats much less.
Look out for...
Bad click-farming list because you have to click to see each game.
That's actually a we-ll written and insightful review that captures the essence of the game.
Pre-orders at GAME in the UK are predominantly for the PS4 edition of Destiny and my guess that it is probably going to be the best selling version in all territories.
However the viral ad by Microsoft has been clever for raising an awareness that the game is also coming to Xbox platforms. But aside from all the hype on GAF and forums it doesn't mean anything unless it directly translates to sales. Before you might wonder if I'm downplaying the power of this ad ask y...
Microsoft seem to want us to forget they have been paying Activision for years for exactly the same sort of marketing deal with Call of Duty!
Maybe they wanted to artifically create a backlash against Sony's exclusive in the same way there was a backlash towards Microsoft for their Tomb Raider deal - but they are just making themselves look like desperate victims.
"Destiny is actually an epic new first-person shooter, available on Xbox. Thing is, we didn’t have permission to run adverts for the game. So we didn’t."
I don't know why Microsoft are playing the victims considering the Rise of the Tomb Raider exclusive deal they did.
Actually I do, they are rattled about the public thinking Destiny is a PlayStation exclusive - and they are right to be worried. In the UK early tracking at GAME is showing it wil...
Microsoft must be seriously rattled about the forecasted sales tracking of the PlayStation 4 version.
Star Trek enthusiasts felt that the term Trekkies had too many negative connotations of being nerdy, so they swapped it for the new term - Trekkers! You can swap a label with another label, but it makes no difference because the thing that's being described is the same.
SECOND-TIER COUNTRIES.
Another point to cross of THAT blackboard!
Haters gonna hate!
Works fine for me!
"Sensui-san thinks that for future titles it’ll be possible to make games on Xbox One with a visual quality that will satisfy everyone... Secondly, he mentions that the quality of the graphics isn’t everything"
His comments are telling and surprisingly honest. He doesn't say the XBO graphics will equal the PS4, he says they will 'satisfy.'
Minecraft is an epic franchise in terms of mindshare and profits made so it's easy to understand why Microsoft would want to buy Mojang. It basically guarantees Microsoft success in the games business when making a sequel.
But I don't know why Mojang would want to sell. Sure 2 billion is a lot of money but they could make that and more with a sequel.
One of the great things about Minecraft is that it's on so many devices. PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Ki...
